This month work officially started on the refurbishment of Active's Reading HQ. The 4-week programme of works started with the installation of a mezzanine floor in the warehouse in order to extend Active's existing office space, and provide additional storage space above for stationary, product catalogues and samples. The team are now hard at work to transform the space below, including the installation of both glass and solid partition walls to create what will be an open-plan tea point, informal meeting space and collaborative soft seating area, a boardroom and smaller meeting room.

Once completed, Active's in-house office fit out team will then move into its existing office space for the remaining 1 week of the refurbishment project to reconfigure and revamp the open-plan office space. This will include the introduction of banks of hot desks, more informal meeting spaces and a designated quiet room for focused activities. A Large acoustic meeting pod will also be installed in order to provide privacy within the open-plan space, allowing for impromptu meetings or head down space in a busy office environment. Throughout the new space, a range of ergonomic Sit-stand desks will be used in order to promote movement and an overall sense of wellbeing. This along with the wide range of working environments will provide employees with choice and encourage an agile way of working.

Active's corporate colour palette and branding, including its latest service icons, will be incorporated throughout the new office space, making it truly representative of not only Active as a brand but also its fun approach to work and core business values.

Active Founder and Director, Colin Tarsey, comments…

“We are excited to be creating a more agile and effective workplace for our own employees, and once the design and refurb has taken place, we'll be equipped to showcase our full offering as well as supporting our workforce in the way we support our clients."

Once completed Active aims to welcome its client to visit its office for the official launch, allowing guests to have a look around and see the transformation for themselves. We have also installed time-lapse cameras throughout so the entire transformation will be captured from start to finish.
